RULES AND TERMS
1 – REGISTRATION FEE
The registration must be done through online platforms. Registrations will be open from 23 March 2020 until 31 July 2020. Short films sent after this deadline will not be considered. The festival requires the payment of a registration fee of 15 euros.
– HORROR SHORT FILMS
2 – REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION
The competition is open to every director of every nationality. In this First Edition of the Festival, both released and unreleased short films are accepted. The length of the short films in competition must not exceed 20 minutes, including opening and closing credits: if this mandatory requirement will not be satisfied, the short movie will be excluded from the competition.
3 – FILM GENRE
Fiction, documentary and animation short films will be admitted to the festival; they must be within the horror, science fiction or fantasy genre.
4 – MEDIA FORMAT
The movies in competition must be uploaded through one of the platforms scheduled for registration. In addition, the content must be sent before 31 July 2020 by WeTransfer or other file sharing platforms at: email@example.com. We accept the following formats: PAL, H264 1080p 24fp .mov or .mp4.
5 – SELECTION
Official notification date: 10 August 2020. The first selection will be conducted by the festival organizers who will choose the twenty best works. A Jury of experts will evaluate these works and they will select the five winners.
6 – AWARDS
The Jury, will award the Award for the Best Short and the Grand Jury Prize. There are also three special mentions for the best screenplay, special effects and cinematography. The prize for the Best Film Award amounts to € 400. The prizes for the Special Jury Award and the Public Award amount to € 200. The other three special mentions amount to € 100 each.
6.1 – PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD
In addition to the existing awards, Visioni Notturne has created a new award which will be awarded directly by the public. Only films that will be visible on our You Tube channel will participate in the audience award. The award will be given to the film that will receive the most LIKEs. The prize is 200 €. It will be possible to vote for your favorite short film until 15/08/2020. The winner will be announced during the official award ceremony of the festival.
7 – ADVERTISING PURPOSES
The works sent to the Festival will not be returned. The registration for the competition requires the filing of all the works within the archive of the Visioni Notturne Festival. The organization reserves the right to use the material received for any subsequent demonstrations, events and / or reviews, also by third parties but always and in any case related to the name of the Visioni Notturne Festival, with the obligation to cite the source and to inform authors or rights holders in advance.
8 – ACCEPTANCE OF THE REGULATION
Participation in the competition implies the acceptance of these rules. The Festival staff reserves the right to modify rules and regulations and to deal with any controversial issues. It’s forbidden to contact the staff and members of the jury privately during the festival selection time. The penalty will be the exclusion from the competition.
9 – PRIVACY
The author of the work declares to accept the regulation in all its parts, to have the legal availability of the film and to authorize the public screening without compensation, removing the organization of the Festival from any responsibility for the present and the future. By participating in the competition, each author is responsible for the content of his works. The author declares to have all the rights on the work, without damaging these rights of others in any way, such as other authors, portrayed subjects, assignees of rights, together with those of music, etc. He also declares that the audiovisual material used is not protected by SIAE.
