TEAM WORK

Andrea Ponzecchi - founder and DIRECTOR

I’m a compulsive archivist and I love cinema. I’m sure that cinema still remains one of the most influential media of the even nowadays. The movies convey extraordinary aesthetic experiences to the people. Movies are always unpublished stories and they are full of stimuli and emotions within everyone’s reach.  I am a technician specialized in film restoration and therefore I am constantly looking for lost films but also for entire unknown filmographies. At the same time I prefer horror stories, inhabited by monsters, or everything is science fiction. My goal is to put available all this material that I find to those people which share my own passion. Why? Maybe because I am devoured by an insatiable passion that is constantly enriched by the frequentation of movie theaters and international festivals, improved by the consultation of the main magazines in the sector and by attending schools and film sets.

Anastasia Vulgaris - PROGRAMME COORDINATOR

The passion for cinema and all its characteristics leads me to find new stimuli and in particular the will to know. It becomes a continuous search for visual experience, able to offer me an ever more complete vision of humanity’s expression skills, allowing me at the same time to improve my expressive skills and looking for the perfect balance between expression and technique, feelings and art.

Gianluca Gori - TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Born in Prato on October 27, 1968, I studied electronics and I have been working in this sector for more than 30 years. I learned to love cinema through the screen of old televisions in black and white, when I, my father and some family friends, used to meet together to see, on Monday evening, the film of the week. At the end of the 80’s i received as gift one of the first vhs portable cameras, a JVC with external video recorder. Without even realizing it, I joined the other side of the screen: Screenplay, direction, editing, photography, became fastly inseparable passions. Since then I have seen and made films.  I attended film schools, projection rooms and film sets. My speciality is the shooting planning and, thanks to my computer skills, I developed a specific software for set management. In recent years I have dealt with projects for to engage children to cinema. It is my opinion that today, thanks to modern technologies now available to everyone, it’s possible to divide the creativity of the directors from the majors, but I also think that easy access to these technologies alone is not enough. Anyway, even if production costs have fallen enormously thanks to digital technology, it is still difficult to give to each work the right visibility. That’s why I believe in this project. Not only a contest where the best works are rewarded, but also a space where every single voice has the opportunity to be heard.

Leonardo Villella - Marketing manager

NOEMI ester romani - DIRECTOR OF CONFERENCE & SCHEDULE

The beginning of my career in the movie industry starts with photography. Passion arisen since I was little, so that, in 2016, I’ve graduated in Photography and New Media, at Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham. Photography personally represents more a private need, the “will of recording” everything around me. Being capable of capturing the instant where the spirit, the essence, the soul of the subject reveals. It’s a never-ending pursue of new movements, shadows, sensuality. After graduating, I’ve continued my studies towards being a cinematographic Director of Photography, and I’ve enriched my experiences working on numerous sets, feature films and short movies to refine my technical prowess, seeking to give spectators, using light and aesthetics features, emotions. The Director of Photography it’s not a mere technician, a member of the troupe, but the authentic eye of the director, its alter ego, its sight. The photography I long for it’s part of a complex creative and interpretative process, in which is necessary having, as well as of a strong artistic sensitivity, also technical knowledge related to equipment, shooting angles, shots, the study of paths and the play of light. To become masters in writing using light, you need passion, study and attentive hearing, as well as good sight, because knowing how to listen to others is fundamental. My knowledge today ranges from experience in the figurative arts to the position and movements of the camera. It’s the chromatic elements that relive vivid memories and experiences, so much so that it is precisely from the union between two extremes, light and shadow, that the color springs, as from the interweaving of experiences, positive and negative, the balance in ourselves. Today I can say that cinema is my job and my passion!

GIORGIA ARBUTI - FESTIVAL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

There has been always a special place for moving pictures within my interests, a strong passion that time by time has evolved into unexpected but fascinating ways. Starting by making personal research on my favourite movies and directors, I improved my overview of this subject thanks to “Film History and Critic” class at the University of Florence. After this, I decided to attend a Master in “Audiovisual Heritage and Media Education” at the University of Udine. This experience has shown me how the concept of  “cinema” could be declined in different shapes and meanings, being an institution that goes beyond the pure aesthetic form. I truly believe that there are other important filmic components as much important as image: its materiality, its platforms, its locus, how people produce and consume movies, and many others. For these reasons, I choose to explore more in-depth what there is beyond the screen, also taking part in different kind of projects, from short movie production to the organization of festivals and other similar events, passing by the academic research on amateurs’ audiovisual performances. Who knows which will be the next aspect that I will go to experiment about this magic cinematographic world…

CHIARA VOLPONI - social media menager

I grew up with movies. When I was too young to read English, my brother used to translate for me the captions in Laurel and Hardy’s movies that we had in VHS. From that moment the passion for cinema never left me and grew up, leading me toward the university of Pisa in Communication and Cinema, then National Academy of Cinema in Bologna and finally the Rome university in Theatre Cinema Dance and Digital Arts. I like to go alone in theatres in the afternoon to see movies. I’m an incurable finicky. I believe that cinema is the reflection of a certain phase, or a society, or a collective exigence, and therefore cinema should be scanned and investigated. It is not only beauty, but it’s an expression. And it’s all about sharing as well. For all these reasons I believe that no movie is ever just a movie, and since forever I’ve always looked for the knowledges to being able to comprehend all the meanings behind films.
